Article Markteting tips and best practises

A good way of getting free viral exposure is article marketing.

When you submit an article keep in mind:
- Some republish sites will not create live links of your article but just publish it in plain text. Therefore make sure you have in your tagline your domain name or website written out in it's full url like this http://www.runbox.com, many publishing systems will make that a live link automatically and then you have your link afterall.

- Make sure you write in the article, preferably at the end. "This article is free to republish in its entirity." Many article websites will remove the source.

- Make sure you have the original article on your website for reference and to claim it in case of a dispute.

- Think about the headline. This is how most people will find your article. This is where you can draw traffic to it. What are people searching for? Can you match that precisely, to the letter?

AdWords Negative Key Word List

A major way of improving your click through rate in AdWords is to use a negative key word list.
AdWords will allow you to set up up to 2000 negative key words.
You mark them with a "-" in front of the key word like this "-hunt game" if you are running a campaign for a game. You want the gaming related clicks, but whoever is searching for "hunt game" as in hunting for meat you do not want. This way you can significantly improve your campaigns.

I am working on a general negative key word list that will fit into most campaigns. Here I will exclude most spamming words like "viagra", profanity, sexual language and most importantly key words that are likely to be non profitable clickers. Words like "refund", "complaint", "sucks" are unlikely to give profitable clicks. The same applies for anything from Nigeria, having "-nigeria" as a negative key word is allways a good idea.
